Many of the children that we place at Back on track have experienced some form of trauma in their life which can, understandably, have a negative impact on their ability to trust, interact or behave with others.
Due to the trauma that they have experienced, the children can often present with difficulties which can lead to a pattern of placement instability, placement breakdowns and ultimately placement moves. This pattern of going through failure and rejection will often increase their behavioural difficulties...and so the cycle continues. At Back on track, we aim to break that cycle for the child by offering a stable placement and are dedicated to seeing through the challenges that may arise from the children in our care. We commit ourselves to working through the difficult periods and give the placement the best opportunity, and time for success. At Back on track we understand the importance of how therapy and therapeutic values can benefit our children to help them process their trauma. Within the home, through positive role modelling, creating consistency, structure and working within positive behaviour support strategies, we begin to repair and rebuild from their early life experiences. When further therapy input is required Back on track will identify the most suitable form based on each child's individual needs from our diverse network of therapist we have access to. Through this dual approach the children at Back on track learn vital skills to manage and build on their emotional wellbeing. |
